Samantha Padgett, vice president of government relations and general counsel for the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), is guest speaker at the Tuesday, March 19, SanCap Chamber business luncheon at Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort, starting at 11:30 a.m. She will address local hospitality industry rulings as a result of the current 2024 state legislative session ending March 8.
“We dive into this year’s legislative updates for Southwest Florida and get the inside scoop on what to expect from Tallahassee this year, and how it will impact the hospitality industry,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and CEO. “Samantha is at the top of her game when it comes to interpreting legislative actions as they pertain to the local business community.”
In her position, Padgett provides legal advice and services to FRLA and its leadership and serves as an advocate for the restaurant and lodging industries at the federal, state, and local levels. She previously served for 10 years as the vice president and general counsel of the Florida Retail Federation.
Padgett, a member of the Florida Bar, graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Law and received her B.A. from Emory University. She has served on the Visit Florida Board of Directors, the University of Florida Center for Retailing Executive Advisory Board, and the Florida Recycling Partnership Board of Directors.
The chamber business lunch is a monthly networking opportunity held at member locations. The chamber strives to schedule speakers to discuss business topics relevant to the membership. The public is invited; SanCap Chamber members receive meeting invitations by email. Cost for luncheon attendance is $35.
