Plan Commission Meets Tuesday for First Time Since Early March

Sanibel Planning Commission will hold a meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, the first since early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The agenda includes a public hearing for a variance to the Land Development Code to construct a dock for non-motorized vessels at a residence on Sanibel Captiva Road. The hearing includes a second variance request to allow for a portion of the dock to be elevated higher than the three-foot height limit.

Commissioners will discuss potential Land Development Code amendments to allow for the installation of vinyl seawalls waterward of the mean high water line as an alternate means of repairing or replacing existing sewalls.

The meeting will be held at City Hall, 800 Dunlop Rd.
