Public Hearing Scheduled for Speed Limit Changes

A public hearing on an ordinance to change some speed limits on Sanibel roads is scheduled for August 18, 2026, beginning at 9:05 a.m. Council has been considering this for four months, since a Roadway Speed Study was first discussed in March. Here are the current proposed speed limits reflected in the draft ordinance:
