Sanibel Bike Club Travels From Lovers Key to Vanderbilt Beach

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

On Feb. 10, the Sanibel Bike Club traveled to Lovers Key for an off-island ride. Members had their choice of riding in one of two groups. One group rode to Barefoot Beach Park on Wiggins Island and stopped at the Big Hickory Grill for lunch. A second group rode to Vanderbilt Beach with a loop through Pelican Bay then lunched at Fit and Fuel. Riders rode anywhere from 12 to 30 miles. It was a beautiful day and members were excited that they had a tail wind both ways – as that never happens!

The Sanibel Bike Club is a group of cycling enthusiasts at all levels of ability. The club always welcomes new members to share its on- and off-island rides and its monthly potlucks. Detailed information about the Club and how to join is available at sanibelbicycleclub.org. Come join us on our next off-island ride on March 10th to ride the Legacy Trail in Venice.
