Two Minor Vehicle Crashes on Periwinkle Way Last Weekend

Two minor vehicle accidents reported last weekend on Periwinkle Way.

Carmen Sainz, 25, Yalaha, Fla., was traveling west at 3:53 p.m. Saturday, July 18 when she slowed for traffic near Fitzhugh Street and the back of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Alisia Nicholson-Sells, 22, Fort Myers. Nicholson-Sells told the officer she briefly looked away from the road to pick up a water bottle on the passenger floorboard at the time of the crash. She was issued a verbal warning for failing to carry insurance documentation and careless driving.

Christopher Delk, 56, Cape Coral, was traveling east at 3:13 p.m. Sunday, July 19 when he slowed for heavy traffic in the 1200 block and the back of his vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Guerline Cadet, 30, Fort Myers. Cadet told the officer she was unable to stop in time due to heavy rain and water on the roadway. She was issued a warning for careless driving.
